A 20-question, server-timed reasoning pilot designed to give trained reviewers one more useful view of how a person interprets patterns, constraints, language, and unfamiliar problems.
How it works
One question at a time, with a clear explanation.
The challenge draws four questions from each of five domains: numerical patterns, deduction, spatial reasoning, verbal interpretation, and systems constraints. Once you submit an answer, it is final. You will immediately see whether it was correct and why, then move forward without returning to earlier questions.
A base score of at least 16 out of 20 unlocks a separately scored five-question bonus round. The bonus never alters your base score.
What this is—and is not
A supplemental reasoning signal, not a clinical IQ test.
We report a transparent raw score and five domain scores. We do not produce an IQ number, percentile, personality diagnosis, or “smart/not smart” label. A human reviewer considers the response alongside role relevance, experience, communication, accommodations, and other evidence.
No result can automatically reject an applicant or affect an employee’s promotion, pay, discipline, or continued employment.
Privacy and session integrity
What the browser can record
Page hidden, focus lost, fullscreen exit, reconnects, duplicate tabs, and attempted copying within question content.
What it cannot identify
Which other application is open, why focus changed, screenshots, screen recording, a second device, webcam, microphone, or biometrics.
How signals are used
They appear only as context for a trained reviewer. They never change the numerical score or automatically end or reject a session.
Before you begin
Use a supported laptop or desktop browser.
Reserve an uninterrupted 60-minute window.
Use a current desktop version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
The server timer continues through focus loss or network interruption.
Do not share the one-time invitation.
Do not submit credentials, confidential client information, or medical details.
Accommodations
Ask before the session starts.
Time and fullscreen requirements can be adjusted through an accommodation invitation. The reason for an accommodation is not stored in the assessment record. Contact manager@programmersunion.org before redeeming your invitation.
Identifiable session data is scheduled for deletion six months after completion or expiry unless a lawful deletion request applies earlier or a legal hold is required.
Have an invitation?
Open the one-time link supplied by the hiring team or, if you are a current employee, use the assignment card in your member dashboard. A denied fullscreen request will not start the server timer.
