How we handle personal data, project information, platform activity, payment-related records, and public-site consultation submissions.
We collect only the information needed to operate the public site, the member portal, project collaboration, and payout workflows. That includes account data, profile information, time logs, consultation submissions, and transaction metadata.
Prospective and current team members may receive a one-time invitation to our Are You Smarter Than the Average Joe? reasoning-challenge pilot. For this purpose we process the participant's name, work or personal email, phone number, role or post, optional note, consent record, presented questions and option order, selected answers, raw and domain scores, response times, session deadlines, and human-review notes.
During an active session, the website can record when the assessment page becomes hidden, the browser window loses focus, fullscreen ends, the connection drops or returns, another tab tries to use the same session, or a person attempts to copy, cut, paste, drag, or open a context menu inside question content. These signals are limited browser events. They do not reveal which other application is open, why focus changed, whether a screenshot or screen recording was taken, or whether an external device was used. We do not use a webcam, microphone, screen capture, biometrics, emotion recognition, AI personality inference, or automated employment decisions.
The score and integrity summary are available only to authorized Super Admin reviewers. Integrity events do not change the numerical score and are not treated as automatic proof of misconduct. Results supplement trained human review and cannot automatically reject an applicant or affect an employee's promotion, pay, discipline, or continued employment.
Identifiable invitation and session records are scheduled for deletion six months after completion or expiry. Associated answers and integrity events are deleted with the session. A legal hold may pause deletion where required, and a lawful deletion request may be handled earlier. Only genuinely de-identified item-level counts may be retained to evaluate whether a question performs consistently.
Participants can request access, correction, deletion, or an accommodation by writing to manager@programmersunion.org. Accommodation settings may change time or fullscreen requirements; the reason for an accommodation is not stored in the assessment record.
